Sun and Moon

I am excited to present my Sun and Moon series.

I live in the countryside which means it is dark, very dark at night. The depth of night can be lifted by finding your friend and mine the full moon. When I see the moon rising it takes away my minor problems of the day and allows a sense of ore. Troubles seem very small once placed in the great cosmos.

The new dawn or sunset are also magical moments. The witching hour for photographers and painters alike. The sun paintings are inspired by our desire to sit and take stock and watch the colours of the sunrise or sunset.

The geometry is Islamic in origin and I choose it for what it represents for me. It is a wave, a constant up and down. It teaches me that with every highlight there will be a low, with every success there will be a failure and that is OK.

These radiant paintings are a central piece of artwork for a deserving wall. They are paintings to sit with and to let the eyes rest on – very much like a wood fire. Where would you hang your Sun and Moon painting?
